With the progress insurance companies have made in the modern world, people have started considering an insurance policy to secure their future and keep stress away from their daily life. In fact, many have started considering this as a lucrative career. They want to become insurance agent, serve customers and earn money. Insurance agents are actually skilled and trained professionals with license from reputed insurance company to offer various plans to those in need. They will retrieve certain amount from the insurance buyer as premium on behalf of the company. This helps then insure their assets. The insurance agentgets a pay as reimbursement from the company according to the insurance bought from the individual. The task is also considered to be among jobs where agents get high commission for each plan they sell.

You just require being fully dedicated to your goal. The major requirement for the job is to obtain license that allows you to sell policies. The license is issued by the IRDA (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority). The license is valid for about 3 years. The insurance agent holds right to disqualify himself via asking for license cancellation at period of time. He can also cancel it during the application renewal process. However, the application to renewal should be paid 30 days in advance prior to the expiry of the preceding license. INR 100 will be levied on the agent in case of late application.

License for becoming an insurance agent is provided to aspirants only after attending a mandatory training program. Additionally, the agent should also clear a written exam. Once, the candidate clears his written exam, he or she can give an application for the license.
Listed below are some of the basic credentials and requisites one requires to appear to the training program:

•  The candidate should be minimum 18 years of age.
•  He or she needs to have completed the basic education till the 12th standard.
•  He or she should attend practical training program of up to 100 hours. This is mandatory.
•  The candidate should hold expertise in sales with an outgoing nature.
•  The candidate should also possess excellent mathematical skill.
•  He or she should possess quick grasping and learning aptitude.
•  The candidate should be hard working.
•  He or she should possess strong perseverance.
•  Excellent communication skill is a must have for those who want to become insurance agent.
